Dairy Farm Stress Test

An analysis of the relationship between profit and N leach, N excreted and GHG for a specific farm under three cenarios.

1.0 Fixed herd with reducing N application
2.0 Optimised herd numbers with reducing N application but fixed per cow production
3.0 Optimised against decreasing GHG limit with optimal herd, nitrogen use, crop area and grazing off.

This is an earlier analysis demonstrating the potentials for N Leach mitigtation by changing the inputs and farming strategy for a specific farm and utilising the LP’s capacity to move inputs to match a desired profit and N leach outcome. Subsequent modelling moved to solving for both maximum Profit and minimum N Excreted(Nx) which provided an even clearer picture of
